Join me Saturday, December 19th, for my LIVE online cooking class, Buche de Noel 101. We’ll make a beautiful buche de noel from scratch, everything from baking the delicate cake, filling the tender cake roll, frosting it handsomely, and decorating it to make a fanciful faux tree for your holiday table.
When is the Buche de Noel 101 class?
Buche de Noel 101 will take place on Saturday, December 19th, at 1:00 pm Eastern time, and 10:00 am Pacific time. Class will last for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
What will I learn in Buche de Noel 101?
In Buche de Noel 101, I’ll show you how to make a beautiful, delicious buche de noel, from tender cake roll to creamy filling and luscious chocolate frosting that looks like bark but tastes like heaven!
I’ll talk about the equipment and tools you’ll need, variations on the recipe, and embellishments to enhance this lovely and whimsical traditional dessert, one which epitomizes the holiday season, and is beloved and interpreted anew around the world.
What’s the cost and how do I register for the class?
The fee for the Buche de Noel class is $25. You’ll pay me via PayPal or Venmo, and as soon as I see your payment, I’ll add you to the class. (Send me an e-mail heads-up to speed things up, at nanciemac@gmail.com.) Here is my account information for each payment method):
PayPal: paypal.me/NancieMcDermott
Venmo: @Nancie-McDermott
What’s Next after Payment for this Buche de Noel 101 Class?
As soon as I receive your payment, I’ll send you my “Welcome to Buche de Noel 101 Class” e-mail, with all the details. I’ll share a link which you will use to join my private Buche de Noel 101 Facebook Group, just for class members.
I’ve been posting buche de noel and other baking stories there already. Once you’re registered, you can read those and check out more content I’m adding daily.
How Will I Find the Buche de Noel 101 Class?
Once it’s time for Class on 12/19 at 1 pm E/10 am P, I’ll go LIVE within our Group, just for you! You can watch me on that day, or watch later — or both! The class will be yours going forward, so you can check back and be clear on all the details of making creating this beloved and traditional holiday dessert.
What about Recipes for Buche de Noel 101?
I’ll send out an email two days before our class, with the recipes, and notes on advance preparation and equipment, so that you can be ready to cook along with me if you like. OR you can simply watch and enjoy the class, and then make your own yule log later. The group will be open to you after class, too, so you can come back and watch again any time.
How about a buche de noel video before we part?
Since I’ve gotten you focused on this classic confection, here’s a less-than-two-minutes video tour of an abundance of versions as offered up in France. Inspiration is everywhere! What’s your favorite, or are you, like me, fond of old-school versions?
Baking in the meantime…
If you’re needing a baking project between now and Buche de Noel class day, consider my old-school pumpkin muffins from Old Salem NC.
Or leave old-school behind for now and make a batch of these dynamite delicious chocolate chip cookies, perfect for accompanying a session of reading Christmas stories by the fire on a December evening.
That’s the story on my Buche de Noel 101 Class, coming up Saturday December 19th at 1:00 pm Eastern/10 am Pacific time.
Remember: To sign up for the class, just make your $25 payment to me via PayPal (paypal.me/NancieMcDermott) or Venmo (Nancie-McDermott) .
Thanks for checking out my LIVE online cooking lesson, coming up soon. Hope to see you in class!
