I love these festively-painted power-boxes, some fenced in…
And sometimes right out on the sidewalk…
Motorcycles make sense in city traffic; this building is just a few yards away from three massive Japanese-style department stores, with great food courts in the basement of each one.

Taipei looks very clean and well maintained – kind of reminds me of Korea. Have you been there?
Nancie McDermott
It’s a beautiful city, and I’ve only begun to explore its delights, with an emphasis on the culinary ones. I have visited Korea once, en route home from my Peace Corps service in Thailand. I’m long overdue for a return visit, and for an extended one. I only got a quick impression from 3 or 4 days, but I loved being there. There’s a television series on Korean food and travel this fall — maybe you know about it. I’m looking forward to checking it out.
Gorgeous…and HOT! What fun you must be having!
Thank you, Jill. It was sweet and hot and good, every single minute. Still lots of pix and tales to share, so check back by when you have time….
My pleasure, Belinda. We’ll go around on some foodie tours one of these days, right? Right!
Agreed! This is a fun look into life in another part of the world.
I love you two, and am so pleased you duo-ed all the way over here to join me on my Taipei walkaround. More coming up…Any chance y’all will be at IFBC in NOLA late August?
Nancie, absolutely breathtaking photos! Thanks for taking us along with on this journey.
Someone may come here to comment that there is no turtle, at least not one easy to see. Correct! I left out the turtle, and at this moment, blog-admin fairies are teaching me a lesson by not allowing me back in to fix that up. I promise to restore the turtle to the morning walk, and I’ll give you a hint; look near the lotus pond in a little while…
